London, 19 November 2014
The seventh Sciences Po Alumni UK gala dinner was held in London on 13 November at the Gladstone Library, One Whitehall Place, bringing together more than 200 former Science Po students and exchange students.
The event provided an opportunity for Ambassador Bermann to talk about the importance of higher education for France’s investment attractiveness and influence in the world, a subject in which the audience was well versed. It allowed her to reiterate that France is the world’s third most attractive country for international students, the number of whom has risen 50% in five years. The Ambassador said that one of the priorities of her mission in London would be to increase the number of British students going off to study in France. She also highlighted the importance of supporting the network of all Britons who have studied in France, among other things through a digital platform which Campus France will launch by the end of the year.
The alumni had gathered to raise money for the Sciences Po Alumni UK Charity Trust, in the presence of Frédéric Mion, Director of Sciences Po. Since 2008, Sciences Po Alumni UK has raised more than €2.5 million for the Trust and France’s National Foundation for Political Science.
