Ambassador welcomes France Rugby World Cup team
Ceremony at the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich, features performances by Trinity School Boys Choir

France’s national rugby team were officially welcomed to the UK on Monday night in a special ceremony taking place at the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich, London, attended by Ambassador Bermann.
There were speeches from Brett Gosper, CEO of World Rugby and Managing Director of the Rugby World Cup, and from Andrew Cosslett, Chairman of England Rugby 2016. France team Captain Thierry Dusautoir also addressed attendees.
Caps and participation medals were presented to the players, while those performing during the event included the Trinity School Boys Choir from Croydon, London. Their school will be the base for the French team throughout the tournament.
On Tuesday the Ambassador attended a lunch in Croydon where she posed for photographs with members of the French team, with Pascal Papé presenting the Ambassador with a signed France XV rugby shirt. She later paid a visit to the team’s headquarters at Trinity School.
France will play its first game in the Rugby World Cup 2015 on Saturday 19 September against Italy at Twickenham with the final match of Pool D taking place against Ireland on Sunday 11 October in Cardiff.
