Burma: Paris renews its call for unconditional release of all arrested since coup
Burma – Press briefing by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs Spokesperson (excerpt)
Paris, 9 February 2021
France is extremely concerned at the situation in Myanmar following the military coup and the measures taken against many elected officials and human rights advocates. France reaffirms its attachment to the freedom of expression, including the freedom to demonstrate peacefully, and to the freedom of the press, as well as to the safety of journalists and all those whose views contribute to public debate in Burma as elsewhere in the world. It renews its call for the immediate and unconditional release of all those arrested since the military coup on 1 February 2021. (...)./.
