Fact-finding mission to London for the Centre for Advanced Military Studies [fr]
London, 20 November 2014
Members of the Centre des Hautes Etudes Militaires [CHEM, Centre for Higher Military Studies] visited London from 17 to 20 November on what has now become an annual fact-finding mission.
Confirming the excellent nature of Franco-British defence relations, the 28 visiting fellows enjoyed a very high-level visit enabling them to talk to, among others, the British Defence Secretary, the Chief of the General Staff, and MPs from the Defence Select Committee in Westminster.
On the invitation of the Director General of the Defence Academy, Rear Admiral Duncan Potts, and the Director of the CHEM, Colonel Benoît Durieux, Ambassador Sylvie Bermann attended the reception held at the Royal College of Defence Studies, with which the CHEM has forged a solid partnership.
It provided an opportunity for her to recall how crucial the military higher education partnership between our two nations is and what a key investment it is for the long-term future of our relations.
