Paris now ranked second city for welcoming investment
The 10th edition of the Global Cities Investment Monitor, drawn up by the organization Paris-Île-de-France Capitale Economique in cooperation with KPMG, ranks the world’s major cities in terms of welcoming job-creating foreign investment.
The analysis is based on newly-established businesses and site extensions in 2018, and on a poll conducted at the beginning of 2019.
It shows that Paris ranks second this year when it comes to welcoming foreign investment projects (up one place), behind London (no change) and ahead of Singapore (down one place).
For the first time, the French capital also tops the R&D investment ranking. In terms of perception, Paris has moved up two places and become the second most attractive city for establishing a business.
It is also the city mentioned most by those questioned in relation to increased attractiveness over the next three years, and the world’s third city in terms of its overall image.
