President calls Defence Council meeting to look at counter-terrorism measures

The President convened a meeting of the Defence and National Security Council devoted to protecting the country against terrorism and to external operations against Daesh [so-called ISIL].
The Council took stock of the action taken after the latest attempted attack. It commended the efforts of our intelligence services and security forces, which have foiled several attacks. It examined the monitoring and protection measures tailored to the threat.
The Council looked at new proposals to support a European initiative in the run-up to the Bratislava summit.
The situation in crisis zones, particularly in the Levant and Libya, was examined./.
