A global approach to internal and external radiotherapy planning

Lead partners:

  • FRANCE : Centre de Recherches en Cancérologie de Toulouse, UMR 1037 INSERM / Université Paul Sabatier (Toulouse).
  • UK : Joint department of Medical Physics – The Royal Marsden Hospital and Institute of Cancer Research.

Main objective

The aim of this meeting would be to exchange experience in both areas (internal and external radiotherapy) and to formulate a strategy for the development of a combined approach to treatment of certain cancers for which patients are known to receive both treatments. These would include neuroblastoma in children, thyroid cancer in young adults and metastatic prostate cancer with in elderly men.

FLOWER - Flax composites, LOW weight, End of life and Recycling

Lead partners:

  • FRANCE : Université de Bretagne Sud -Institut de Recherche Dupuy de Lôme
  • UK : University of Portsmouth – Advanced Polymer Composite Group

Main objective

The FLOWER project responds to a real industrial demand by developing innovative and efficient flax reinforcements best-suited to the composites industry’s requirements. To facilitate applications, non-woven reinforcement materials (for non-structural applications) and untwisted-roving multi-axial semi-products made from unidirectional non-crimp fabrics (for semi- and fully-structural applications) will be developed. Moreover, new industrial recyclable and biodegradable products will be developed, whose potential will be further exhibited through demonstrators including a flying boat and automotive parts.

All the meetings will be held in September 2017 in London.
