Investors’ Day - French Embassy in the UK to host 15 venture-capital fund managers
On 27 January 2022, the French Embassy in the UK, in conjunction with Business France, is organizing an investors’ day: 15 venture-capital fund managers with offices in London will be hosted at the French Residence, where they will be presented with investment opportunities in France.
The discussions will provide an opportunity to understand investors’ expectations and answer their questions. Also presented to the fund managers during these discussions will be the France 2030 plan, amounting to €30 billion over five years to address the major challenges of our time, particularly the ecological transition, through massive investment to create the technology champions of tomorrow and support the transition of our sectors of excellence: energy, the automotive industry, aerospace and space. The plan’s ambition is to allow France to increase its environmental, industrial, technological, health and cultural independence and take a lead in these strategic sectors.
This meeting is also being held in the context of France maintaining its leading position hosting foreign investment in Europe: 20,000 foreign businesses have been set up in France and employ two million people. Of the €4 billion in foreign investment in France for 2022, more than a quarter comes from the UK. Finally, in 2021 the number of foreign finance projects for the Ile-de-France region (41) exceeded that for Greater London (38) for the first time.
